Adult Welsh Learning Centres in:

Mid Wales – Persuaded cafes on Aberystwyth University to give a 10% discount to those who ordered in Welsh and said Shwmae. Also raised monies for Welsh Air Ambulance. Welsh taster couses were held for restaurant staff.

Gwent Welsh for Adults held an open day at Blaenavon Big Pit celebrating the Welsh language and culture.

West Wales Welsh for Adults held lunchtime taster sessions on Swansea University campus and Welsh for Adults Carmarthenshire promoted their lessons in Llanelli and Carmarthen, launching 2 new Welsh learning Apps.


South Wales Welsh for Adults distributed 2000 Shwmae badges around the University of South Wales.

Coffee mornings and socials were held in
Pontyberem, Cardiff, Swansea, Ely Children’s centre, St. David’s College, Aberystwyth, Penygroes , Gwynedd, Caerphilly
Gwaelod y Garth, Ammanford.


Pembroke, Merthyr and Ceredigion Colleges produced videos, artwork, Welsh sessions, beat box & poetry sessions and raised money for charity.

Mentrau Iaith organised stalls, busking sessions, reading sessions, Welsh chat challenge, translation service, coffee mornings, distributed badges and flashmobbed.

Bangor University offered a 10% for those who ordered ia cuppa in Welsh.

Theatr Felin Fach organised a fun day & evening co-operating with Felinfach School, the local youth theatre and the YFC.

Maesydderwen , Ystradgynlais , Archbishop Mcgrath , Bridgend , Brynmawr , Kenfig Hill , QE High Carmarthen , Llanelli Bryngwyn , Aberconwy , Maesteg , Dyffryn Taf and Iolo Morgannwg schools celebrated with a Quiz ; Prizes ; Welsh chat club; Welshcakes and coffee ; Graffiti wall & posters ; Welsh music played on the tannoy during break times; cake sale; Welsh language Assembly; music, drama and poetry workshops , raising money for charity!

CAD of Bangor raised money for charity by fining anybody who used an English word in the office!
